A boring topic and subject but working so many days leaves little time for much more than the essentials so I had a four day blitz and Bob looked after the shop. As is usual it looked lovely for a day but it feels so much better to have had a sort out. The washing pile has diminished due to me being at home and taking advantage of the few days of warm weather we had. The ironing conversely has increased.
There is a lot to be said for being organised now I can't find a thing but I know it is in one of those boxes in the conservatory!
I think being a housewife is very underrated and working and being a housewife even more so.
Now that I have managed to sort some of my mess it is time to use that lovely material I bought and make some cushions so hopefully within a few days I will have some photos of cushions to post.

An Dummies Guide...
Keeping my fingers crossed that my new ability to post photographs continues! I must admit I ended up asking my son to show me where I was going wrong. The more I learn the more I think I should write a book the Dummies guide to technology or writing a blog but as there is a Dummies guide to most things perhaps there is one already, I must go and have a search of Amazon!

Battling technological demons
I had a lovely evening last night at Malvern Mumpreneurs which is a group for Mums in business. We were lucky to have Tara Cain an award winning blogger come to talk to us about her blog how it has positively changed her life and how it can help you promote your business. It was very interesting and I learnt a lot, probably more than most due to my lack of technological ability but every bit of advice pushes me forward. So if you are reading this I have managed another step forward. I often wish I had been born in this age of technology so that it would not cause me such anguish but at the same time I get a great sense of achievement when I am successful in my battles.
So today I am taking a moment in the shop to put into practice this new information. I would love to hear from you if you have received this blog and if like me you find technology a battle.

Catch up
It has been a long time since my last post, it takes quite a while to become comfortable with writing a blog and I have heard a little writing but often is the best. Just wishing I could get the photo aspect to work, I will keep trying though. What lovely weather we are having at the moment it is so nice to walk home carrying my jacket rather than wearing it, roll on summer!

Bye bye Wotnot
The front of the shop. Pleased to say I have now managed to sell my wotnot. I have been busy painting furniture for my shop and have been able to bring in a lovely hall table, plate rack and magazine rack, photos to follow when I finally get to grips with my google plus account....

enjoying work
Well would you believe that I have just finished five weeks in the shop? I am amazed as it seems like yesterday that we were moving in! I am really enjoying the experience and going to work is a pleasure! Now if I could only clone myself to do all those mundane household chores!

O sew chic temporary sign
Not sure if I have finally managed to make this work but here are two photos I have taken showing my new temporary sign and the outside of my shop. It has a taken me all evening to download google plus up load my photos then add them to my blog! I will win this fight with technology!
Fat quarters and vintage buttons
I now have a lovely selection of fat quarters and vintage buttons in my shop. As a fabric lover I have enjoyed sorting out my stash of fabrics, there are some gorgeous colours and great patterns. I have also had great fun sorting and washing my vintage buttons which has brought back great memories of playing with my Mums button tin. I wonder how many of you have the same memories?

Flying time
Time has really flown by since my last post so I must make an effort to write something more frequently. As they say time flies when you are having fun and I am definitely having fun and meeting some lovely people.
On Wednesday evening I attended the monthly meeting of Malvern Mumpreneurs a group I joined two years ago just after it was set up, it is a lovely relaxed informative venue, Mums in business sharing their knowledge experiences and relating to the challenges of working whilst bringing up a family. Last nights meeting was a revelation to me a technophobe who struggles with some basic issues of how to use social media to promote my business, so armed with lots of notes this weekend if I can find my lap top I hope to face my fears and work out how to link my business facebook page to my blog, Twitter, Etsy and everything else I have signed up to, now if I could just remember my passwords......

Celebrations
We had a little excitement over the weekend a visit to Leeds to celebrate the 30th birthday of our eldest son Robert, which was held at Neon Cactus a Mexican bar in the city centre. It was a surprise party for him arranged by Rachel his wife. He was surprised but very happy to see all his friends and of course his family. We drove up and back the same evening so Sunday was a quiet recovery day. I now know I am far too old to join in the evening scene and far too young to have a 30 year old son!

O Sew Chic is now open!
It is now the end of the third day in my new shop O Sew Chic and I am very tired but loving it. Luckily I have an able assistant, my husband Bob, to bale me out when I need a moment and to give advice of the financial variety. He is also great at hanging pictures!
I had intended to start my blog with the build up towards the opening, but as they say all good intentions..... so instead I hope to keep you up to date as things progress.
We have had some interesting people chatting to us whilst browsing in the shop and have made a few sales, hoorah! Everyone has been very kind wishing us good luck with the business and promising to come back. Which I am sure they will and I am looking forward to meeting a lot more people.
I hope you will keep popping in to read my blog and take a look at the lovely things I have in my shop.
Bye for now Kerrie
